Biography

Sergio Barba was born in Malaga in 1980, he is a director and screenwriter. Fighter, passionate about his profession, restless and committed. The winner of the first edition of Hack Mafiz Málaga, selected from more than 1,300 candidates. In 2017 he awoke an enormous passion for creating cinema, for telling stories. From that moment, and in a self-taught way, he writes and directs his own works. In his career, he has gone through several important festivals such as the Lugo Film Week, the Memorables Film Festival (where he won the Second Prize with his short film "Mi Estrella") or the Malaga Festival. In 2020 he won the Best Short Film Director Award at Sol International Film Festival (Torrevieja).
