Murat Tirpan

Murat Tirpan was born in Izmir, and studied philology. Worked in Film Design and Cinema -TV departments of Egean University, Izmir University of Economics, Mugla University and Dogus University. In addition to academic publications, cinema workshops, short films he has tended towards the field of film criticism by noticing that the most important thing for him is to write on films. He began to write film critiques in academic, semi-academic and popular circles. He writes film criticism in the periodicals like Altyazi Sinema Dergisi, Cumhuriyet, Yeni Sinema, Ayrinti Dergi, Psikeart, Alacakaranlik and Episode Dergi. He is also screenwriter of different short films. Currently, he is the head of Okan University Fine Arts Faculty Cinema-TV Department and instructing theoretical classes such as cinema theory, film criticism, film language, cinema history. He is a member of the Association of Turkey Film Critics (Siyad).
