Emily Ong Shuyi is a Malaysian filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist in the multiplicity and transformation of identity during a time of intense environmental shift. They are 1/2 of 3rdSpace, a creative collective built on the foundation of decolonisation and community practice. Emily's latest narrative piece, My Sister is a Butterfly is making its festival premiere at Raindance Film Festival 2025 in London. Their directorial debut Abantu - tung4 jan4 (2022) was officially selected for Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2023.
