Maruf Noyoft is an award-winning internationally known filmmaker whose films have been official selections at the Lisbon Film Rendezvous Festival in Portugal, Varesh International Film Festival in Mazandaran, Iran and Universe Multicultural Film Festival Los Angeles.

Maruf graduated with honors from the University of Art and Culture of Tajikistan and began working for a local production company in the capital city, Dushanbe, Tajikistan. There he cut his teeth shooting, filming, and editing stories about the rich culture and traditions of Tajikistan, with a focus on highlighting extraordinary moments in his work as a documentarian.

Avenir Love led him all the way across the world to the Bay Area, where he now lives with his wife and three boys, aged 9, 6 and 1. In Berkeley, Maruf connected with a vibrant community of filmmakers, and he took every opportunity that came his way, shooting and editing music videos, short films, live events, and documentaries. Through hands-on experience in the field, his technical skills grew.

He is adept at working with digital cinema cameras like Sony FS7/FS5, Canon C series, Blackmagic URSA, DSLR cameras Canon 5DMark II/Mark III/Mark IV, Sony A7II, broadcast cameras JVC and Panasonic. To light his scenes, he uses a variety of lights like ARRI, Dracast LED, Aputur C series. For post-production any professional NLE software Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, as well as After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Audition on Mac computer platform.

In 2013, Maruf was brought on as a videographer for the Nile Project, a documentary film project that chronicled the livelihood and art of traditional musicians from along the Nile watershed. Late in 2013, Maruf accepted a position as an assistant editor at Waypoint Homes, a real estate management company in Oakland. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to video specialist. During his two years at this company, Maruf became familiar with the style and purpose of promotional videos that depict a brand, spread a message, or inform the consumer. In September of 2015, Maruf was hired as a videographer at Renesas Electronics, where the majority of his workload was editing. Early on at Renesas, Maruf was sent on location to film technology tradeshows such as "DevCon," and "CES."

Due to the quality of his footage, eye for detail, affable demeanor, and fast turnaround as an editor, Maruf was promoted to the senior videographer position at Renesas Electronics. His time there brought him to the cutting edge of graphic design, motion graphics, color correction, creative lighting, and sound recording and mixing. Along with capturing and editing videos, Maruf was also tapped to create print level quality still images of the company's products. In 2017 and 2018, he received two Spot Light awards, from Renesas Electronics management for his work creating high-quality videos of CES 2017 and CES 2018. His videos and photos made their way to national and international television and online news sites.

Maruf's background as a trained traditional musician combined with his love of documentary filmmaking to create a short documentary film "A Door to God." The film tells the story of a traditional musical instrument Rabbob of the people of the Pamir mountains of Tajikistan. Historically, the Pamir people used this instrument to secretly practice and teach their religion during the oppressive Soviet regime. "A Door to God" was a finalist at the Lisbon Film Rendezvous Festival for the best film award.
