- Ed Bulmer is an award-winning Director/Animator/Illustrator based in London. Originally from South Derbyshire, he studied Directing Animation at the National Film and Television School, graduating in 2018, and has since continued to make short films as well as commercials and music videos.
Ed's work is filled with humour and a playful surreality in everyday situations, he brings an emotional depth to his characters and a cinematic styling to his films. Applying a mixed media approach to his work, from traditional techniques and model making, to puppeteering and 2D & 3D animation, creating rich and immersive worlds in which his characters live.
His graduation film "Hedgehog" has screened at festivals around the world, picking up a few prizes on the way including the Special Jury Prize at Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival.
His latest short film "Frank's Joke" was broadcast on BBC4 and made its festival debut at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2019.
