Freda M. Del Rosario is a Hispanic filmmaker born and raised in Mexico until 2014, when her family moved to the U.S. Her focus is short films centered around complex young women struggling to fit in with the world around them. She is deeply inspired by her own experiences, making her films very personal and significant to her. Common themes in her stories include loneliness, anxiety, and a desire to be loved.
She started her filmmaking journey at Northern Virginia Community College with "Queen of Mud" and various student projects. She then continued her education at the University of Miami, where she co-directed "6 Hour Friend" and went on to write and direct "Willow" and "River."
