He was born in Istanbul. Since his childhood, he always had a special interest in photography and cinema. His first experience with film was when he watched ''Payback'' stared by Mel Gibson when he was just 13 years old. Emrah studied Cinema and TV in Selcuk University and graduated in 2007. He later followed up with attaining another bachelor's degree in photography in the year 2014.
He has four short films of which he was the director, director of photography and editor of all the films. He has been part of the production team of two feature films of which he was the set director. He has been part of many documentaries where he either was the director, director photography and in many cases performed both duties.
During the academic year of 2012-2013 he lectured classes on making short films. In 2013-2014 he was the director of photography for the documentary ''Dogadaki Insan'' (The man in the jungle) and it is during this time that he really fell in love with directing and realized his purpose in life.
He continued to pursue his career as he joined the production team of ''112 Acil'' (112 Emergency) a TV program that aired one of the biggest TV station in Turkey ''Kanal D''.
He worked as the director of TODO Productions, where he managed to make lots of viral content that became very popular in Turkey for the comedian Hayrettin. He later continued the trend by working as the director of the biggest YouTube in Turkey where he created even more popular internet video content. He is currently working as a Director at Piktora Production House.
