Cha Joo-young was born on June 5, 1990 in Seoul, South Korea. She is an actress, known for The Glory (2022), The Queen Who Crowns (2025) and The Spies Who Loved Me (2020).

[parents disapproval of her being an actress] My parents were strongly against acting. I knew they would object, so I started secretly without telling them. They were devastated. They didn't even talk to me. They told me to quit and go back to the States. I just ignored it.
