  • Marshall-Weishuai Yuan is a Multi Award Winning Actor, Writer, Producer, and Filmmaker. He is the co-founder of the independent film production company, NOAH Films as well as the co-founder of Diversity Australia Mag (DAM). He is best known for Starving Artist(2021), Social Murderer(2021), and Superhero(2020).

    Born in 1993, at Camperdown Hospital, Sydney, Marshall is of Northern and Southern Chinese heritage. His father worked as a carpenter while his mother was a seamstress. He started acting during high school at Newington College, where he took Drama as an elective until his final year. After graduation, Marshall studies at the University of Sydney, majoring in a Bachelor of Arts and Science. In 2015, Marshall discontinued his studies at the University of Sydney to further pursue a career as an actor. Initially, he worked as a background extra in television and media projects such as 'Here Come the Habibs', Toyota, and Transport NSW. In 2017, he attended the New York Film Academy in Sydney, graduating the same year with a Diploma in Acting.

    After graduation, Marshall was cast in the lead role of the featurette 'The Years that Define You' a romantic drama. At the same time, he met his partner and co-founder of NOAH Films, Sangeetha Gowda, who was an actress in the film. In 2018, he co-founded NOAH Films with Sangeetha to promote diversity in the Australian film industry. Since its conception, the company has produced multiple works which have received critical acclaim in international film festivals.

    Marshall is the recipient of multiple 'Best Actor' wins and nominations, most notably at the New York International Film Festival(2020), British Web Awards(2021) and Best Actor Awards(2021). He has also received 'Best Director', 'Best Film', and 'Best Screenplay' for his short film Starving Artist, as well as 'Best Drama' for his short film Perpetua(2021).

    Offscreen, Marshall is the co-founder of Diversity Australia Mag (DAM), an online magazine that promotes local Australians from various ethnic backgrounds and communities.
