Biography

Ombeni katige AKA Ben was born in Congo DR and raised in different cities, to Maurice Katige ( Father from Congo) and Adela Mukashemwa ( Mother from Rwanda) his mother is woman of prayers and she took Ben every day too church. His used to play the role of Maria the mother of Jesus in all the community plays on Christmases. His father was a very good man who loved to spend time with him and loved to tell jokes. Growing up, Ben was top dancer in school competitions and in comminity, Ben loves watching movies and reading books. Ben Started to write stories at the very young age and many of his story were well received at primary, high schools and in the communities and even at university . In 2002, Ben had the opportunity to play 3 roles on the stage play " The Havens gates and and the hels flames" produiced by Assemblies of God in Kigali.

Ombeni studied video multimedia at university of South Africa, Political Science and criminology at University of Moncton and has acquired many certificates and he is a member of South African Guild of Editors and the New Brunswick Film Coop (Canada). Ben also has his Apple Final Cut Pro X Associate. Ben is Los Angeles Independent Film festivals Award Winning Editor and Ford Credit Canada Award winning for Diversity and Inclusion. Ben has attended and continues to attend various video production workshops, instructed Final cut pro X to new Brunswick Film Coop and have worked for various productions around the globe.

Ben was an integral part of Big Brother Africa 2009 Crew and he worked with FIFA World Cup 2010 football for hope in South Africa. Ben was also the President of the New Brunswick Intercultural Heritage Association and he have contributed to Rogers TV in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ben keeps Inspiring many Africans filmmakers especially Congolese video and filmmakers who refer to him as a teacher.
