Biography

Sophie Elgort is a photographer, director and artist born in New York City.

Her work has been featured internationally in magazines and newspapers including Vogue Thailand, L'Officiel USA, Elle, Rolling Stone, Glamour, Paper Magazine, Teen Vogue and The Financial Times, whose style column, Suits and the City, she co-created and then photographed and wrote for six years. Sophie has also created images and directed short films for brands like Adidas, Alice + Olivia, Bloomingdales, Buccellati, Clinique, IBM, J.Crew, Kipling, Mercedes Benz, Olay, Maybelline, Roots, Ralph Lauren and Topshop and has had numerous successful brand partnerships including with brand MZ Wallace, designing the Sophie Crosby Camera Bag, which sold out overnight. Her celebrity portraits include Brooke Shields, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Ansel Elgort, Rosario Dawson, Becky G., Rachel Zoe, Azzedine Alaia, Cuba Gooding Jr., Dove Cameron and many others.

Sophie was named Forbes 30 under 30 in the Art and Style category in 2016 and in 2019 to The Daily's, 12 New Wave Creatives Moving Fashion Forward. Sophie has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times and Good Day New York among numerous other magazines, newspapers, TV shows and podcasts. Alongside her photography, she also contributes to a variety of media outlets as a photography and fashion expert both on-air and online. She is also a frequent public speaker, including at the Rubin Museum of Art, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Pratt Institute and Brown University among other places and is a judge each year for The All American High School Film Festival.
