Nirmal Baby Varghese is an Indian film director and producer, Founder and CEO of Casablanca Film Factory, a production company specializing in feature and documentary films. He gained recognition with the historical documentary Thariode (2021), which explored the forgotten gold mining history of Wayanad. His feature directorial debut, Vazhiye (2022), was a found-footage film widely regarded as the first of its kind in Malayalam cinema and marked the Indian debut of Hollywood composer Evan Evans. Known for blending historical depth with immersive cinematic storytelling, Nirmal is developing international projects and collaborations spanning India and international markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. He is directing a slate of upcoming international films, including Thariode: The Lost City.
