D.W. Olivas

David William Olivas is a 33 year old author and musician from San Jose CA. In 2014 he co-created the Syracuse University Film Festival before graduating Newhouse with a B.A. in Television, Radio, and Film business. After a brief time in journalism at NBC, he moved to LA to work in the music industry, but has recently stepped away from the catalog, artist, and tour management to focus on music supervision for films and documentaries. He is also on the operating staff of a non-profit that uses arts and music to combat recidivism among the justice-involved population of Los Angeles. He writes and performs music under the stage name 'Strangerland' and is currently writing the final installment in an original young adult fiction series of six books entitled 'Flying Colors'. 1/15/2026
