- Bruce Carlton Cunningham Jr. began acting at the age of nine, performing in school theatrical productions and quickly developing a passion for storytelling. With early dreams of making movies, he pursued formal training in film and theatre in college, laying the foundation for what would become a decades-long career as both an actor and filmmaker.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Cunningham began producing short films at just 20 years old while still a college student. After graduating, he continued honing his craft by producing and acting in short films and stage productions, including several theatrical works for his church community. Over the past 26 years, he has built a diverse body of work as a prolific independent filmmaker and performer.
In 2013, Cunningham made a pivotal decision to elevate his career, taking on more ambitious creative projects. This led to the short film Ricky’s Hurt (2016), which he wrote, produced, directed, and starred in. His on-screen credits also include Retribution (2015), Static: A Fan Film (2018), Icon: A Fan Film (2020), and the web series Gonzo (2016) and Sunshine (2016). UN-RESOLVED marks Cunningham’s debut independent feature film as a filmmaker. Serving as writer, lead actor, editor, and self-producer, he personally raised the capital to finance the project and took on multiple major crew roles throughout production. The film has been completed and released, solidifying Cunningham’s reputation as a driven, hands-on storyteller committed to bringing original stories to the screen.
