Cassandra Phillips-Grande

As a multidisciplinary artist, Cassandra Phillips-Grande's interests are vast and overlapping. Raised in rural Ontario, she found herself creating experiences where there lacked resources. As a result, her current works are still motivated by finding beauty in the mundane. Trained as an actor at University of British Columbia, Cassandra quickly integrated her other skills of costume design, storytelling, and directing into her creations. She regularly erects works that showcase her multitude of talents. Rather than looking towards the future, Cassandra draws inspiration from days past: pulling the viewer into her retro dreamscape. Her visual language is unique and immediately identifiable, while nuanced and evocative. She passionately believes in the power of non verbal communication, as it is integral in visual storytelling mediums. Nostalgia driven and aesthetics focused, Cassandra revels in opportunities to leave the viewer aching for more.
