Piyush Kumar debuted on screen with one of the largest ad campaigns for an international brand. Subsequently he shifted base from New Delhi to Mumbai to explore commercial Indian cinema. His film debut was with renowned Malayalam film director Akhil Sathyan, where he played the lead antagonist.
Thereafter, he bagged several key roles in the cult film LSD2 with director Dibakar Banerjee, the web series Mitti, and Baweja Studios’ Bhagwat. His latest film, Baby Crasto. Apart from this, he is a theatre director-practitioner and the founder of theatre company iktara Studios. He also works as an actor in running stage productions by Rajat Kapoor and Purva Naresh. His training and performance style are rooted in clowning and Commedia dell’arte which strongly inform his craft.
