- Stephen lived in Boonton New Jersey most of his life before moving to New Mexico in 1986 with his wife and two children. He worked in casino industry for twenty years in management and for the Casino Gaming Commission. In 2015 he appeared in a featured role in the television series Dusk Till Dawn season three. From there he appeared in some small featured films until he landed a recurring role in the Television series Get Shorty where he played Dave a Mob Bodyguard in season one.

- In 1982 Stephen was introduced to pop star Michael Jackson Managers and Promotors by a mutual parties. A meeting was held in East Orange NJ Jersey where Stephen was hired to be Mr Jackson personal Body guard during a private party celebrating the success of his hit album Beat It. His wife Nancy was placed on Mr Jackson guest list as well. Because of contract disputes the event was canceled , Stephen never met Mr Jackson.
- Stephen never considered the film industry until a coworker convinced him to send a photo to a casting agent. He was contacted within hours and was casted in a featured part as a vampire in an episode of Dusk Till Dawn TV series. In November 2016 he appeared in a TV pilot with his wife as an extra playing a truck driver, he was later cast in a recurring featured roll in the television series Get Shorty in season one.
- In 2012 he entered his first power-lifting meet at the age of 52. He set a New Mexico state dead-lifting record .
- Stephen (Reno) was close too late Actor Richard Farnsworth. The spent endless hours talking about the film industry and the many films Richard stared in. To this day Richards remains an influence in Stephens film work. Stephen said Richards kindness and soft spoken manner off set reflected in his characters he played in films.
