Biography

Marie-Joseph Chénier was born on February 11, 1764 in Istanbul, Turkey. Marie-Joseph is known for Tonight We Raid Calais (1943), Black and White in Color (1976) and La rumba (1987). Marie-Joseph died on January 11, 1811 in Paris, France.

French author and playwright, he had also political influence during the French revolution. He is the younger brother of the poet André Chénier (Istanbul, Turkey 30 October 1762- guillotined 25 July 1794 Paris). André's life inspired movies and one opera by Umberto Giordano.
