Skylar Aleece Smith is an award-winning American actress and model, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She began her career at the age of five, appearing as "Young Girl" in the BET holiday movie Christmas Belles (2019). Since then, she has gained attention for her talent and on-screen presence.
In 2024, Skylar portrayed Maretha in The Piano Lesson, a role that earned her the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth in a Motion Picture. Her performance also contributed to ensemble cast wins at the Gotham Awards, SCAD Savannah Film Festival and African-American Film Critics Association.
Skylar's television credits include playing Young Joy in the Evil Lives Here episode "Murder in the House of Prayer" (2024), along with appearances in Dhar Mann, The Cuzzn M Show, and The Fun in Funny.
She is also an accomplished model, featured in CreativeSoul Photography's Heirs 2022 calendar and the book The Me I Choose to Be. She has appeared in Mocha Magazine (February 2020) and walked the runway at Baton Rouge Fashion Week (2020) and Crowned Fashion Show (2023) in Atlanta, Georgia.
