Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Zenobia Kloppers is a Namibian-South African actress, singer, and voice artist working across film, television, theatre, and radio. A formally trained actress and classically trained lyric soprano (bel canto), she brings distinctive vocal precision and emotional depth to her performances. While widely recognised for her dramatic work, she has demonstrated range across action, comedy, and fantasy.

She made her international television debut in Season 3 of Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time (2025), appearing in a multi-episode role as Amico Nagoyin, marking her transition into the global screen industry. She first gained international recognition for her acclaimed performance as Fiela Komoetie in Fiela se Kind / Fiela’s Child (2019), earning her Best Actress nominations - at the South African Film and Television Awards, Africa Movie Academy Awards, and Silwerskerm Film Festival Awards - and the Best Actress Award at the South African Independent Film Festival.

Her recent screen credits include Die Kantoor (Showmax), the South African adaptation of The Office; Unseen (Netflix); Recipes for Love and Murder (Showmax/Acorn); The Morning After (Prime Video); Spinners (Showmax/Canal+); and Die Nuusmakers (kykNET), as well as the feature films Lucky Fish (Prime Video) and Finding Optel (Showmax). She will next be seen in the crime thriller 180 (Netflix), with additional projects slated for release in 2026.

Her recurring television roles include Suidooster and Arendsvlei (kykNET) and Amaza (SABC2), alongside appearances in Blood & Water (Netflix), Dinge van ’n Kind (kykNET), Die Sentrum (SABC2), Projek Dina (kykNET), and Sara se Geheim (kykNET).

Beyond acting, Kloppers is a director and screenwriter. She co-wrote and directed the award-winning short film Riel (2023), which premiered at the Durban International Film Festival, received an Africa Movie Academy Award nomination, and won at both the South African Independent Film Festival and the Pierre Cardin Short Film Festival. Her second short film, Helmhart (2023), premiered at the Silwerskerm Festival, where it was nominated for Best Screenplay.

With a strong foundation in theatre and classical performance, she has portrayed complex female leads in productions exploring identity, heritage, and belonging, including Fiela se Kind, Ghoema (Spice Drum Beat), Sarah - The Story of Saartjie Baartman, and Die Swerfjare van Poppie Nongena. Her critically acclaimed play Klarabelle gaan Kaap Toe was the first Khoekhoe-themed play in Afrikaans.

She works across South Africa and internationally.
