Overview

  • Born
    January 3, 2001 · Montreal, Canada

Biography

  • By the age of 12, Alexandre was already appearing in several plays with other young people of his age. This is how he discovered his love for acting and dramatic writing. He left the scene at 14 and went to the cinema instead. He took several acting courses and took part in some student director projects. It was by visiting film sets that he decided to give up acting for film making. He began to write several short films until in February 2017, at the age of 16, he made his first short film "La tapette" with some friends from high school. Nobody agreed to finance the film. They raised only $ 200 between them. That's when he founded Whitefox Productions Canada, his first production unit, with his two partners Serguei Markov and Tom Langlois. In September 2017, he won the prize for best foreign short film at the International Film Festival Quindici19 in Rome, chaired by Martin-Strange Hansen, winner of the Oscar for Best Short Film in 2003. 3 months later, his film was presented at the Eye Film Instituut Nederlands in Amsterdam at the International Talent Day Zone. The Shanghai Queer Film Festival agreed to present his film as well as ACMI in Melbourne, Australia. In February 2018, he receives a grant to realize his second short film "Toy Soldiers", still in post-production. Alexandre is 17 today and has no intention to stop making movies.
