Biography

Aastha is an award-winning Director and Producer based in Los Angeles, and brought up in Dubai.

She surrounds herself with stories that are built on ground reality and is a keen storyteller with female protagonists. Her vision is to bring out hidden realities of any given society, to tell stories which are entertaining yet heartfelt and produces something that the viewers take away from.

Being a Writer/Director, she strong withholds the facts of ground realities of life when it comes to storytelling, owing to her experience and co-existing in cross cultural societies throughout her life.

Her motto, when it comes to making movies is that: "as the new face of cinema, it is in our hands to bring an impactful change through the powerful and evergreen medium of cinema - a language that is recognized and understood throughout the world and conjoins different cultures."

Currently, Aastha works as a Freelance Film Writer/Director and Producer in Los Angeles. She is also Creative Director of Saadhvish Films and operates offline out of Mumbai and Dubai (soon in Los Angeles).

Aastha Verma, is an Indian Origin, Dubai-based and Los Angeles-bred Director and Producer.

With more than forty fiction short and feature films to her credit, including The Last Rights, was qualified for the 95TH Oscars Nominations. Her most recent non-fiction work includes broadcast and streaming shows for National Geographic, Banijay Asia, and Amazon Prime Video and Fiction content for BBC Studios. She has also Produced a slate of Music Videos for Diljit Dosanjh's Album 'G.O.A.T', an Indian pop-star and now a global sensation.

Verma has over seven years of experience across all formats in Middle East, India and the USA, with her work exhibited in eminent festivals globally. Under her production company, Saadhvish Films, she has Co-Produced an Asian American feature film 'Sheryl', soon to be streaming on MUBI. She continues to develop a slate of home grown fiction and non-fiction features and TV shows dedicated to elevating South Asian and Women's voices from a Third Culture perspective and human interest stories which are timely and Current.
