Born in Flushing, Queens (New York) Heather grew up in New York City and later attended high school in Dutchess County, N.Y. She graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology with her Bachelor's in Illustration before attending The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts
Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation, in Copenhagen, Denmark to complete her Master's in Production Design. She has been a freelance production designer since 2015 and launched her own company, Mermade Media, specializing in pre-production services. She has resided in Copenhagen since 2009, with her husband and two children.
