Andrea Novoa is a versatile filmmaker, a Canadian Film Centre alum and a CSA nominee based in North Bay, ON. With a rich background spanning various roles in filmmaking, Andrea has discovered her true passion in editing. Constantly learning and collaborating within the media arts, she draws inspiration from her multicultural upbringing in Bogotá, Colombia, infusing her work with a unique and diverse perspective.
Originally trained in dance performance and choreography, Andrea's transition into film editing felt like a natural progression. Her dedication to movement and expression continues to influence her editorial style. Andrea's talent is showcased in numerous acclaimed and award-winning short films, including the documentary The Dance Connection (which she also wrote, directed, and co-produced) and the neo-noir film Bang Bang, both of which earned recognition for their editing.
Additionally, Andrea has worked on children's television shows such as Couleurs Du Nord and Bestest Day Ever. Most recently, she received a nomination for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Editing in Children/Youth for her work on The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy.
