Biography

Ryan Foust is an actor, singer, dancer and comedian. Ryan's latest film project, Nimrods (formerly New Years Rev) opened in theaters worldwide August 14, 2026. Ryan plays Chad, the band's lovable drummer in the coming-of-age comedy produced by legendary punk-rock band Green Day and inspired by stories of the iconic band's early days of touring.

Foust can previously be seen sharing the screen with Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson in Universal Pictures' Marry Me, directed by Kat Coiro. He played Nicole Kidman's son, Andy Barbour, in the John Crowley-directed film adaptation of Warner Bros.' The Goldfinch, based on Donna Tartt's Pulitzer-winning novel. Ryan starred opposite Amy Landecker in the short film Father Figurine. On the small screen, Foust appeared in the Netflix limited series Tales of the City.

Ryan trained with the world-famous Groundlings based in Los Angeles, debuted as a stand-up comic with Bobby Lee at The Comedy Store, and has appeared in multiple national commercial campaigns.

Ryan's career began at 11 where he originated the title character in some 130 live performances of the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway. Off-Broadway, Ryan was directed by Michael Grief in Make Believe, and appeared in Tracy Letts' Mary Page Marlowe, both at Second Stage. Ryan's grounded stage and film performances garnered critics' praise such as "rich sensitivity and nuance," "enchantingly sincere," "completely engaging," "played perfectly," and as "perfecting the innocence of the character."
