Sophia Rosa Bartolai is an American Actor. She was born on February 6th, 2001 in Chicago, Illinois. First coming to attention as a print and runway model for international designer Mac Duggal in 2018, Bartolai went on to portray "Synthia" on the set of the Feature "Where Sweet Dreams Die" starring Zachary Laoutides. On that set, she also received credit as 1st Assistant Director and Key Grip. Bartolai has worked alongside Youtuber and Internet Personality Robert "Rob" Gavagan (known for "Seriously Strange" and "Why Would You Put That on The Internet"), providing Voice-Over for his Analog Horror Series "GREYLOCK" on Youtube.
In addition to being an actress and model, Bartolai is a musician (guitarist, pianist, singer/songwriter) that has performed live at venues in Nashville, Tennessee in 2017 and Highwood, Illinois as an opening musical act for the band 'Fletcher Rockwell' in 2021.
Sophia Bartolai's mother, Hilary (Shaf) was also born in Chicago, Illinois and is of German, Romanian and Lithuanian ancestry. Sophia's father, Enrico Bartolai is of Italian origin, first generation (born in Chicago, Illinois). Sophia is the youngest child, with one brother. Sophia was educated at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois before attending College of Lake County in Lake County, Illinois.
Bartolai has taken acting classes and workshops from institutions such as Piven Theatre in Evanston, Illinois and Improv Playhouse. Sophia has been praised by numerous instructors on her improvisation skills and acting abilities.
Sophia's interest in the entertainment industry started at an early age with performances in front of family and friends as well as in school theater. Kindergarten marked a very memorable moment of discouragement for Sophia as she was given her first role as a toilet in class by her music teacher in which she had to spin around and verbalize the phrase "gorgula, gorgula". Bartolai has frequently joked about the humiliation that role caused in her early years. Sophia has since been an active advocate against bullying within her community and elsewhere and how people in many different positions can assist in preventing it from happening.
Bartolai grew up being taught the value of strong familial connection and support and this has helped her shape her beliefs against bullying and advocacy for mental health and it's direct connection to ones environment and community.
