Born in Texas, he began acting at a young age, appearing in commercials for brands and initiatives such as Pepsi, the Anti-Bullying Campaign, and Celebration Station, as well as performing regularly on stage. As a teenager, Cannyon moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting professionally. He attended and trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts where he earned an Associates of Occupational Studies degree in Acting. His stage credits include a wide range of productions such as "La Cocina", "Trust", "Still Life", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Clue On-Stage", "Much Ado About Nothing", and "The Three Musketeers".
