Joewackle Kusi is a Ghanaian multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans film, audio experimentation, and theater. His work tells bold, nuanced, and inclusive human stories that explore the intersections of history, culture, and social politics. Through his storytelling, Kusi investigates how these forces shape and redefine our lived identities, offering audiences both reflection and dialogue on the human experience.
Joewackle is a fellow of the 2024 International Sound Documentary Summer Program at Ecole Nationale Superieure Louis-Lumiere in France where he created Lavenir Est Deja Ici - a sound documentary about the rise of the far-right movement in Brest. He was selected for the 2025 Durban Talents. As a culture writer, he has been published by international platforms like Vice, Dazed, OkayAfrica, and NativeMag.
He is is the Founder of Church Of Stories - a production house committed to connecting a global audience to compelling storytelling, and inclusive world-building. Beyond storytelling, Church Of Stories actively contributes to a thriving local cinema culture with Reel Fellowship. Reel Fellowship is a series of film screenings, exhibitions and experiences as a way to archive and celebrate cinema culture.
