Biography

Erika Miranda is a Mexican-American filmmaker(director and producer), theater director, and actor whose work blends performance, story, and world-building. She is the founder of Cafecito Productions, a development company dedicated to bold, emotionally resonant, genre-adjacent storytelling.

Her directorial debut, Trailer [Trash] Magic, won the Georgia Film Impact Grant, premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre during LALIFF, and will stream on Roku in 2025. She has also directed the short films Baby Steps and Her Bones My Body. As a producer, her credits include Mi Casa (streaming on all HBO platforms) and Sweetie (part of Give Me An A, available on VOD). Her films have screened at major festivals including Palm Springs ShortFest, Cleveland International Film Festival, and Atlanta Film Festival.

Miranda's acting work spans television (Monarch, Tell Me Lies) and film (Gallows: Act 2, Give Me An A, Mi Casa, Blood Orange), alongside regional theatre credits in both classical and contemporary works.

She trained at The Theatre School at DePaul University, LAMDA, and Upright Citizens Brigade, with additional Meisner and Practical Aesthetics study. Bilingual in Spanish with conversational French, she brings a cross-cultural lens to all her creative work.

Named a Georgia Entertainment Top Industry Influencer and featured in Oz Magazine and Telemundo's Atlanta Con Sabor, Miranda champions storytelling that is messy, magical, and tender - and the creative spaces that allow such stories to thrive.
