Biography

Julio Quinan is a comic book designer, screenwriter, stage director and producer for more than 30 years. Always involved with the seventh art he hoped to mature his cinematographic knowledge to finally produce his first feature film challenging the logic of expensive budgets in Brazil. After years in advertising, where he won several prizes for routing and producing commercials for TV, he made his first short films using the low-budget, improved techniques throughout his career. Julio Quinan wanted to prove (and proved) that it was possible to tell a beautiful story that captures the viewer's attention without blowing things up or moving the camera too much. His ability to design his own storyboards and the management of people on the set gave him a unique ability in the direction. Betting on a classic cinema, but on the basis of guidelines for its accomplishment, Theo, besides freedom is an expressive landmark in the history of national cinema, given its productive capacity and its low budget, almost meager. The film snatched thousands of people with its structured and simple narrative. With the support of newcomers and other veterans, he composed an opera worthy of being assisted several times.
