Edward Ian Kim

Ian is a Korean-born actor, filmmaker and cellist whose work is rooted in music, memory, and the search for belonging. Originally trained as a classical cellist at the Manhattan School of Music, the emotional vocabulary of music continues to inform his approach to acting and storytelling. After immigrating to the United States at the age of eleven and growing up between cultures, he turned to film and music as expressive forms, shaping the sensitivity that defines his works. He is also the driving force behind Monad Films; his latest film Joseph is in post-production, with his next project slated for pre-production.
