Biography

Danielle Silverstone is an American-Israeli-Polish-Romanian-Greek-Russian Jew-ish writer-director-comedian residing in Los Angeles. Originally wanting to act but quickly realizing she didn't like people telling her what to do, she decided to start making her own stories. After years of being inundated with lack of representation, whitewashing, queerbaiting, and character arc destruction from Hollywood, Danielle wanted to reflect the actual world she saw, which was much more diverse than what she'd seen on screen. Existing as a neurodiverse queer Sephardic/Ashkenazi Jew-ish woman with a disability and a fat disorder, it was hard to find any characters who actually looked like her or experienced the world like her, or anyone around her for that matter. Almost everyone she knows is queer and yet in most media they will have one (1) queer character (if any) and they would definitely never be a main character. So, Danielle set to work creating a world of radical love and acceptance in her stories, striving to make sure everybody is represented in some way. Whilst she creates personalities of the characters, certain lived experiences will come from the actors because everyone deserves representation and to feel like they are not alone, and so she is very collaborative with her actors as a writer and a director to ensure the characters stay true to their stories. She fights for a world where straight isn't the default, character arcs actually finish, and media doesn't sacrifice story for the sake of money.
