Nnamdi Alexander Mezue is a Nigerian-born, Igbo-descended, naturalised British creative entrepreneur, producer, and art director, and the founder of Brewstarz Ltd (est. 2020, UK). His work sits at the intersection of film, technology, and cultural storytelling, with a strong focus on cross-continental narratives connecting the UK and Nigeria.
Originally trained as a web developer, Mezue established Brewstarz as a digital presence management company, working with high-profile figures including Yul Edochie, Rachael Okonkwo, Nani Boi, and Emma Ugolee. This experience sharpened his expertise in audience engagement, branding, and digital storytelling skills that now inform his approach to film production and distribution.
His transition into film was driven by close collaboration with creatives in the entertainment industry, leading to the evolution of Brewstarz into an independent production company. Mezue brings a holistic understanding of filmmaking, having worked across acting and art direction in early Nollywood projects including Wrong Initiation (2018), Native Girl (2018), and 7th Dimension.
As a producer, his first official credit came in 2023 with Bleeding Butterfly, a collaboration with Nani Boi, marking the company’s entry into feature film production in Nigeria. In 2024, he expanded into the UK industry, co-producing a comedy short in collaboration with UAAS, demonstrating his capacity to operate across both Nollywood and British film sectors.
Mezue’s creative vision is rooted in telling culturally authentic, globally resonant stories that bridge identities and challenge perspectives. Through Brewstarz, he is building a scalable production model that integrates content creation with digital strategy, enabling wider audience reach and impact.
In addition to film, he is also a writer, with works such as False 9: The Curse of the Plague Doctor, reflecting his interest in character-driven, psychologically layered storytelling.
