Biography

Joe Guintu is a Filipino-Italian American actor, filmmaker, producer, voiceover artist, comedian, motivational speaker, and business leader whose work centers on authentic storytelling around disability, resilience, and the shared human experience.

After pursuing acting in his youth, Joe stepped away from the industry to build a successful career in business before returning to entertainment nearly two decades later. Since reentering the industry, he has appeared in film, television, commercial, and print campaigns, including work with Google, LinkedIn, Walmart, CVS, and Disneyland Resort, where he served as the face of the accessibility guide.

Joe’s recent screen work includes GOAT, A Halloween Feast, Fuel Up, and Amor Fati - a vulnerable disability-centered dramedy he produced and starred in, inspired by his lived experience as a wheelchair father. The film was nominated for Best Film Presented by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Best Writer Presented by Netflix at the 2026 Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. His work has also screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2007, Joe sustained a life-changing spinal cord injury, resulting in permanent wheelchair use. His story was featured by Dr. David Muir on Medical Mysteries. Living with both visible and invisible disabilities, Joe brings grounded authenticity to his work and is committed to advancing meaningful representation in film, television, and media.

Beyond entertainment, Joe is a motivational speaker who works with universities, corporations, and community organizations, sharing lessons on perseverance, leadership, mindset, and resilience through adversity.
