He began screenwriting in 2017; his first feature script, The Cedar Room, reached the final interview stage of Channel 4's 4Screenwriting course in 2018. In 2019 he was selected for Ardán's Script Mentorship Scheme, developing the comedy series The Rooster under producer Keith Potter; the series was later shortlisted in the BBC Writers Room open call.

His short script The Radio won the 2019 Galway Film Centre / RTÉ Short Film Commission. Directed by Laura Kavanagh and starring Lalor Roddy, it premiered at the 2022 Galway Film Fleadh and was broadcast on RTÉ.

In 2025 he received the Creative Heartlands Film Bursary to write and direct For Grace, Go I, a short starring Lalor Roddy and inspired by a painting by his uncle, production designer Frank Conway. It premiered at the Adaptation Film Festival, Manorhamilton, in September 2025. He is also a producer on Capall, a short funded through TG4's Tús scheme and directed by Glenn Gannon.
