  • Hussain Haidry is a screenwriter, dialogue writer, and lyricist who gained wide recognition for his spoken word poem titled, 'Hindustani Musalmaan'.

    He has written lyrics for Hindi films like Gurgaon, Qarib Qarib Single, Mukkabaaz, Taish, Jaadugar, I Love You, Sherni, Dobaara, Tarla; and web series like Yeh Meri Family, Tripling, Chacha Vidhayak Hai Humaare, and Killer Soup. For the film Mukkabaaz, Hussain wrote seven out of ten songs, and two of his songs, 'Bahut Hua Sammaan' and 'Chhipkali', were widely appreciated. Hussain has written the title song for the Amazon web series, Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare, the music for which was composed by Vishal Dadlani. He was the lyricist on TVF Tripling: Season 2 and received much praise for the song 'Ishq Ka Haafiz'. For the web series, Yeh Mari Family (and Aspirants), he also wrote the song, 'Dhaaga' that got him accolades. Moreover, his song 'Shaabash' from Jaadugar was selected for the Commonwealth Games in 2023.

    As a screenwriter, he has co-written the story, screenplay, and dialogue of the popular Amazon show Laakhon Mein Ek. He wrote 'Madhyantar' based on Kannada writer Jayant Kaikini's short story for the Ankahi Kahaniya anthology directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Hussain has written the dialogues for Karan Johar's upcoming period drama film Takht and Aparna Sen's award-winning film The Rapist. He is working on three shows for Amazon Prime - one project in the capacity of a screenwriter, and two projects as a dialogue writer. He is also working as a co-dialogue writer for an upcoming series on SonyLiv.
