- Emily Isaacs is a writer and filmmaker originally from London.
Starting as a successful professional child model and actress, modeling for Lord Snowden, Butterkist, Birds Trifle, and appearing in several BBC children's productions, one notable theatrical gig was at 12, performing in a production of 'Carmen' with the English National Opera for six months at The Coliseum. She started training in literature and drama, but she was encouraged to go into Music rather than acting, and ended up studying 'cello at Trinity College of Music, London. Having to leave mid-way through from illness, she started teaching the 'cello and piano and did a teaching qualification with the Associated Board in 2000. In 2009, her Sjogren's relapse caused her to be house and bed bound, so she began an English Literature degree, completed mostly from bed.
After going into remission in 2014, she continued studying, started working full-time again, this time as a PA to the directorate of Adult Social Care for a year, while she rebuilt the teaching business. In 2017 she joined Drop Dead Films as Head of Production to manage the production of '13 Graves' while teaching and studying for a MA in Cultural and Creative Industries at Sussex University. This included her in the 'Yes She Cannes' awareness campaign for women in film at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, she graduated her MA with a distinction just as '13 Graves' was released.
The pandemic in 2020 forced the closure of her teaching business, so she seized the opportunity to write, and started Scriptworks Productions with her filmmaker husband Gino Isaacs. Since its inception, they have seen multiple awards for their first short films and pilot scripts, most notably being a finalist in the BAFTA Rocliffe TV Drama New Writing Competition, being selected for the 2022 BFI Doclabs cohort, being one of the final twelve applicants in the 2023 Jed Mercurio Mentorship Programme, and being one of the thirteen winners of the 2024 WFTV Kay Mellor Screenwriting Lab.
Emily lives on the South Coast with her husband Gino, their two sons ( who both live with Autism, ADHD and learning difficulties), and Emily has an adult daughter and son.
She identifies as female (she/her) and lives with Sjogren's disease. She is a part-time wheelchair user.

- She once performed as a three-legged, very short-sighted cat in her school play, when she broke her arm on the morning of the performance and couldn't wear her glasses under her mask. Highlight of her career.
- She used to teach David and Fred Dimbleby the 'cello. She almost had a miscarriage in their front room during a lesson. They were very nice about it.
- She went to school in the shadow of the BT tower, in a school that had it's playground on the roof. It was the 80s.
