Sondre moved with his parents to South Korea from 1984 to 1986. He trained Taekwondo every day and gained the black belt in under 2 years. Upon his return to Norway, he was the youngest person to have the black belt. He later achieved Second-Degree Black Belt and moved on to training MMA.
