Biography

Jill Nalder is known for Finding Your Feet (2017), It's a Sin (2021) and Les Misérables the Dream Cast in Concert (1995).

She is known for her career in theatre as well as her contributions to HIV/AIDS activism. The character Jill Baxter in It's a Sin (2021) is based on her and her experiences during the period depicted. Russell T. Davies, the writer and producer, and her met aged 14 while performing in youth theater, and they remained friends. Her life stories assisted Davies develop the screenplay. While the character based on her is played by Lydia West, she plays the character's mother, Christine Baxter.

She was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2025 King's New Years Honours List for his services to people with AIDS and HIV. She is an actress and activist in Neath, Wales and London, England.
