- Kit Yan is a writer raised in the Kingdom of Hawaii. Kit is a recipient of the Helen Merrill Award, Kleban Prize, ASCAP Harold Adamson Lyric Award, Jonathan Larson Grant , and the Vivace Award.
Their work has been produced at Lincoln Center, The American Repertory Theater, East West Players, and The Smithsonian among many others. Fellowships and residencies include Sundance, MacDowell, Hermitage, The Dramatists Guild Foundation, The Playwright's Center, and Lincoln Center.
For screen, Kit has sold a feature film to Disney and their films have been shown at the London Film Festival, OUTfest, CAAMfest, The LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, and The Asian American International Film Festival among many others. Kit is developing work for TV and film with their writing partner Melissa Li.
