Joe Gietl is a writer, director, and producer from Upstate New York and the founder of Dancing Plague Studios. His work has screened at festivals including Sitges, FilmQuest, and Flickers. Having written more than two dozen long-form projects across film and television, he maintains an active slate of narrative work in various stages of development. He is currently in production on The Dwelling, an animated horror short in collaboration with artist Castle Jackal, and recently directed a hybrid documentary about the overdose epidemic in Philadelphia, currently in post-production.
