Biography

André Campos Mesquita is a screen writer, author, professor and lecturer born in Franca, São Paulo, Brazil. It was the talent for the written words what brought audiovisual talents up close and personal with André. He has lived in many cities before choosing São Paulo capital as his residence in early 1990s. Graduated in Grammar from the São Paulo University, he has also a Master's Degree in Linguistics. He was hooked as a screenwriter for the films "Amarar" (Wave) and "É Quase Verdade" (It's Almost True), which consequently took him for the co-creation of the web series "Os Chorões" (The Criers). A fan of Woody Allen, of Brazilian pornochanchada, of the underground and alternative cinema, André has brought this whole experience to his audiovisual works, mixing up pop references, iconoclastic sense of humor and even elements from the erudite, the classical music, literature and the theatre.
