Lev Prudkin is a filmmaker of Russian, Ukrainian and Jewish heritage, born in USSR and based in France.
He graduated from MSU (degree in linguistics and literature) and VGIK (degree in film directing).
Lev is the grandson of the prominent Soviet/Russian actor Mark Prudkin, a member of Stanislavski's Second Studio, and who performed at the stage of Moscow Art Theatre for over 70 years.
Lev Prudkin's debut feature "No-One", made in collaboration with Vladimir Prudkin, is a subverted, re-imagined version of Otello. It has been premiered at Moscow Film Festival in 2018, and won awards in Vienna, Hong Kong, London and Warsaw film festivals. Experimental thriller "Bleeding Blue Bird" (2025), based on Maurice Maeterlinck's works, is his second feature film.
