Beginning his journey in the Bronx, New York, Jamel went on to be classically trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He has embodied characters such as "Romeo" and "Tybalt" in Romeo & Juliet, and performed off-Broadway as Terrell, a professional boxer in the year 1909 dealing with everything that comes with it, to much acclaim.
With such vast experience, his experience in the London acting scene has only strengthened his resolve in his work. Wearing many hats, he owns and operates out of his production company, 210 Films, whose first project was Emergence, a short film which is having its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival. It will be developed into a TV series.
Jamel has worked with award-winning filmmakers and actors, and has acted in films such as Divide: Time to Breathe, which won 13 awards, two of which were his: both for Best Lead Actor.
