It was ABS-CBN top executive Charo Santos-Concio''s idea for her to use a unisex name, to which she completely agreed because she "likes names suitable for both sexes" as well. And they ended up with Charlie. Earlier in her career, she was using April Matienzo, which is from her biological name April Rose Dizon Matienzo.
