Luca Varsalona

Biography

  • Luca Varsalona was born in England, to Sicilian parents. He attended part-time classes between the ages of 11 and 17 at Redroofs School for the Performing Arts, notable for its numerous famous alumni.

Varsalona then became a full-time student at Redroofs for a year at the age of 18 where he was picked out by BAFTA-winning director Adam Tyler (Refugee, 2016) to star in his new short film Like Me, playing the role of Michael. Like Me went on to winning Best Drama at the BAFTA British Academy Children's Award 2017. His potential was noticed by Co-director of the school Samantha Keston where she introduced him to James Beresford at Shepherd Management, towards the end of his time at Redroofs.

In the summer of 2016, after finishing Redroofs, Varsalona was signed to Shepherd Management. In May 2017 he was cast in Disney's new global TV series 'Find Me In Paris' as Clive, one third of the time travelling villains 'The Time Collectors'. Season two of the show started filming in the summer of 2018 and upon a positive reception from viewers, spawned a season 3. Season 3 took place in 2019 with Varsalona reprising his role as the Time Collector, Clive.

In 2019 Varsalona was cast as Joe 'Spigs' Spigliani in Netflix's The Liberator (2020) a four-part World War II drama series based on the novel by Alex Kershaw. This is the first project produced in Trioscope, a new technology which incorporates CGI and live action performances to bring a brand new look to the animated genre. The Liberator was released universally on Netflix on the 11th November 2020.
