Shane Devon Nelson is an actor and screenwriter from Ontario, Canada.
He is the son of a journalist from Niagara Falls, New York and an auto-worker from Amherstburg, Ontario.
Shane began studying theatre as a teenager, and went on to attain his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He has also trained internationally at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia.
Shane featured in Detroiters ("Hark Motors (2018)") on Comedy Central, and NBC's Chicago Fire ("Something for the Pain (2023)"), and in 2024 Shane had the honor of joining SAG-AFTRA after a guest spot in the Season 3 premiere of Mayor of Kingstown ("Soldier's Heart (2024)"). In 2025 he joined the Canadian union ACTRA after featuring in Sheriff Country ("Firewall (2025)") on CBS and Murdoch Mysteries on CBC. He is most known for his recent guest spots on The Pitt ("6:00 P.M. (2026)") and The Westies ("The Westies (2026)"). Shane's debut original play "The Pet" will be staged in October 2026 after winning the Windsor-Essex Playwriting competition.
