At 27 years of age I finally stepped into acting. A lifelong curiosity of mine which turned out to be the missing piece to my puzzle all along.
My life has been nothing short of a blessing yet finding myself in adulthood my optimism began to diminish. Year by year the void grew bigger and after five years in London chasing my own tail I packed my bags and booked a hostel in Berlin. Never would I have expected to find myself where I am now - all because of that change.
Berlin is a unique city. I feel a lot of people move there for a change: the air of emancipation and free will allows you to enjoy life to your hearts desire. Naturally, my experience was influenced by my past, but Berlin gifted me the time to think and do for myself which ultimately led me into acting.
My heart has been in film for as long as I can remember yet I did not grasp its magnitude until that very first workshop. Being on stage felt more exciting than any adventure I had ever embarked on. It was an awakening. I knew this was the right track because I had spent the best of a decade trying to figure out what I am only to realise it was nestled right there in my heart this whole time. My biggest fear however was sharing this secret. Never had I spoken a word of it.
By some miracle I was cast for the lead role in feature film, Intruder (2018) (AVA Productions). The luckiest experience of my life: a crystal ball opportunity to discover my potential as an actor. I can confidently say my path was set and my enthusiasm only intensifies the further down this rabbit hole I go. I want nothing more now than to develop my craft, make new connections, build upon my experiences, and one day, return my great fortunes. For me, it is only a matter of time...
