Biography

Sergei Alexandrovich Oskolkov was born in 1952 in Stalin. After graduating from the Donetsk Musical College he enrolled at the piano faculty he studied at the Leningrad State Conservatory, which he graduated from as a pianist (in the class of Professor PA Serebryakov, 1977) and composer (from Professors VL Nagovitsin and Yu. A. Falik, 1981).

Creation: S. Oskolkov is the author of about a hundred works in various genres, including three operas, three musicals, three cantatas, two piano and symphony orchestra concerts, two string quartets, six piano sonatas, many vocal cycles for poems by Russian poets , A number of works for folk instruments, music for theater and cinema.

Since 1977 and up to the present time active and fruitful concert activity of S.A. Oskolkov has continued as a pianist-soloist, ensemble player and accompanist. Herzen (piano). Currently S. Oskolkov - head of the sound engineering department of the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, professor. The pedagogical talent of S. The artistic and organizational abilities of the musician were especially evident in the activities of the annual International Festival of Arts "Sergey Oskolkov and His Friends", organized by him in 1997, dedicated to music, painting, poetry, theater and cinema. For the years of the festival artists from Germany, France, Switzerland, Finland, USA, Great Britain, Australia, Japan, many domestic composers and performers took part in it. The concert programs of the festival pay great attention to the work of contemporary composers of St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia.
