Ganna Sorbat is an award-winning Ukrainian-born composer, singer, and pianist based in Los Angeles, known for her evocative original songs and acclaimed live performances. Classically trained from the age of seven, she holds a degree in Composition and Concert Piano Performance from the Kharkiv National Kotlyarevsky University of Arts in Ukraine. Early in her career, she also worked with Pure Sound Art Production & Distribution in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian and comfortable across a wide range of musical styles, Sorbat is frequently invited to contribute to distinctive creative projects. She has collaborated with Emmy-nominated composer and producer David Majzlin (Wired for Chaos, Bel Canto, The Loving Story) and Emmy-winning composer and pianist Katya Richardson (The Last Repair Shop, Motorcycle Mary). Her work blends ethnic, classical, and contemporary pop influences into a cinematic vocal style.
As a performer, Sorbat presents an eclectic repertoire ranging from Mozart and Morricone to Etta James and Elton John. She has appeared at numerous high-profile venues and events, including Soho House, Delilah, Sundance Film Festival events, Catalina Jazz & Grill, Four Seasons Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, and Sony Pictures Studios. Her international performances span the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, and include appearances alongside The Rolling Stones, George Fenton, Tommy Tallarico, the UAE National Symphony Orchestra, the Morgan State University Choir, the Unity Gospel Choir, and the Salt Lake Pops Orchestra.
Awards and recognitions include the Grand Prize (World Music) at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for "Bells and Shadows" (with David Majzlin), a Hollywood Independent Music Award nomination for "Ashes and the Name" (with David Majzlin), and Finalist honors at the Artemis Women in Action Film Festival for "Between Earth & Sky." Her work has also been recognized in numerous international music and film competitions.
Sorbat’s debut EP Revelation was released in 2019. She is currently producing a collection of epic, cinematic, and contemporary vocal works for film, television, and sync licensing. She lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
